The Industrial Site Inspection Engineer's role is to work on complex projects to monitor the integrity and compliance of industrial facilities, generally directly seconded to the SIR (recognised inspection services) of the company's clients. He/she may be called upon to participate in corrosion studies of industrial equipment in order to determine its criticality and draw up inspection plans. He/she may also be called upon to work on projects to prepare work to monitor the integrity and requalification of installations, or any other inspection and control management project.
The Inspection Engineer may be involved in some or all of the following tasks:
Trained as a Metallurgy Engineer, my professional career started in Algeria where I held the position of inspection engineer for pressure vessels on oil and chemical industrial sites. Thanks to this experience, I greatly appreciated this field which I found fascinating. Today, Alpha-Maintenance has enabled me to work for a company with an international dimension in which I could blossom and build my professional project.
Currently I am an RBI engineer, for Risk Based Inspection, or in French: Inspection Basée sur la Criticité. This is a method that aims to optimise inspections of industrial installations by determining the modes of degradation of the equipment that makes it up as well as its criticality.
The objective is to reduce operating costs while controlling risks.
My mission is to work in the inspection department of one of our clients to carry out criticality studies of pressure equipment. This consists of identifying the modes of deterioration affecting the equipment, assessing the probability and potential consequences in the event of failure, determining the risks and finally, proposing risk mitigation actions.
To do this, I use Isometric and PID plans, which broadly represent the units, I consult previous inspection reports concerning the equipment and I cross-reference this information with various regulatory texts; this enables me to establish a criticality matrix.
Feeling able to do my job effectively, making a positive contribution to the company and society, finding pleasure and interest are the main factors enabling me to enrich and appreciate my daily life.
It's difficult to answer this question!!! But what makes us proud, ALL the team and myself, is the performance and quality of work we achieve and the satisfaction we feel with our client.
I would like to thank Alpha-Maintenance for the confidence it has shown in me. You have given me opportunities to prove myself through the different tasks I have been entrusted with. I am determined to make the most of my skills and to participate in the prosperity of the company by modestly bringing my contribution to the edifice.
